I really hope this one makes it. I mean, I only survived to level 2 on my first try, but I had fun with it.

Very good, especially if this is really your first animation. Good work and hope to see more from you in the future.
Author's Response:
Well its not exactly my first animation, but it is my first submission. But I'm glad you enjoyed it !

I like the music. A little grip would be that the Prophet doesn't have a name, but then, maybe it works better that way.
The levels are nicely done. Due to my personal preferences, I vastly prefer Dead Gulch over Area 51 and the World of Machines. I will, however, admit that the Machines world was done very nicely and humorly, what with time warps and what not. I really liked the humor in all stages however.
The enemies are basicaly all the same, with different looks. Maybe the machines and alien foot soldiers have a longer reach then zombies. Don't know if this was intentional or I just saw it wrong. It doesn't really matter, since it ruins nothing.
One thing I liked very much is how enemies work in unison. The meatshields harras you all the time, while the artilery throws everything it's got at you. Makes you change your places and adapt to situation at hand, which is only good. And it can work in your favor, once you figure out that enemies can be hurt by ranged attacks from their own guys as well. AI seemed quite intelligent, adapting to situation somewhat. Don't know if it was random or programmed, but it was nice to see. This is a game that doesn't spare you and I count that as big plus.
Weapons look nice and useful. Haven't tried Alienator yet, but crowbar and Cyber Blade are great weapons, one as mighty offense and the other as potent defense. Nice touch that you can't gain special attack power while under the influence of the shield, the potential for abuse is great there. But I'm not really sure what's with Zomboss's arm. Was it supposed to make the attack more powerful? The description certainly says so, but I'm not seeing it. Or I'm seeing it too little. Not saying it's bugged, but I have that feeling.
Bosses are too easy, once you figure out what the trick to them is. Especially Smiley. However, Smiley later gets "minions"... of a sort. I think Zomboss and ZOMG would do well to have few minions as well. Would make the challenge much more potent and the satisfaction at beating them that much bigger.
Love the medals, got 10 of them in two playthroughs. I imagine Anorexic will be the hardest one to get, but with right use of crowbar, nothing that can't be done.
And like cega0 mentioned, the stun(even if it only lasts for a part of the second) is very hard on a player. The enemies swarm you very quickly and you die fast. Either add checkpoint or somehow disable the stun effect from the enemy hit.
tl;dr: it was a great game and I enjoyed playing it greatly. Hope to see out Propher again.

It's funny and educational! :D Though I feel little sorry for your test subject... still, I greatly enjoyed watching this. It was sometimes hard to understand you(probably because of the accent) and the animation sometimes looked blurry, but that's all the complaint I have.
I hope you got good mark. I know I'd give you one just because of the humor included.
Author's Response:
Why thank you.
Oh by the way I did get me mark back from my S+E teacher, I got a 8/10

Like it has been said already, far too little of these animations are around lately. Would love to see more from you.

I like the song and while I think the movi on itself is a little boring(not much is happening in it, after all), the end was quite good and made up for it. All in all, a nice little submission. Nothing spectacular, but funny to watch nontheless.

Finished this one about ten times even before the madness mode was out and had tons of wiht it even then. Tried madness mode today and finished it in first try(though I did use one extra life for that) and I must say, it's GREAT!!! Much more challenging, fun and all around just plain great to play. Finally the clown is a tough enemy and no more of those pussy agents that you can beat with your bare hands. The game now finally is true to it's name. This trully... is... MADNESS!!!
I'm not sure which controls I prefer. I honestly didn't find keyboard controls hard and it was fun to play game with. But mouse control scheme runs smoothly as well and I got used to it right away. Beat madness mode with it. So I won't say either is better or worse than the other. They are different and to each his own. But it's always nice to have choice.
The original game is just pure win. And always fun to replay, no matter how many times you finished it already. I like the graphics, the gameplay, the enemies and the it's always so satisfying to beat that clown. And the True Face of Evil is just hillarious! Needless to say, the Pacifist award in one I get very rarely :D
My only complain would the flamethrower. It just seems vastly inferior to other weapons. Sure, it has a buttload of ammo, but such a short range. To me, it's the worst weapon in the game, since you need to get quite close to enemy to be of any use. And it doesn't even have that satisfaction you get when using chainsaw. If I get flamethrower I usually try to change it asap. Or burn it, if I'm in elevator. But that is pretty much the only problem of the game.
I love the patch that allows you to pick more ammo for the same gun. Makes the life quite easier, when you don't have to worry to run out of ammo anymore.
My only other complaint would be that, now that you've instaled the madness mode, nobody will be playing the regular game again :D

While this game has offered me countless hours of fun so far, I would have a few major problems with it.
First of all, the game seems downright mean sometimes. The pain in the ass centering when windows are concerned has already been mentioned. Connected to that is funny phenomena when you gain a great boost in speed when crashing throught window. Adrenalin rush? Doesn't matter. And further, the obstacles INSIDE the buildings are posed downright ridicously. You think there is a single object in your way and you have enough speed that you could take it. But it turns out there are actually TWO object, one over another and it's impossible to distinguish them. Result being your speed lowered so much you can't clear the next jump and you die. This happens quite often. A scripting error? I certainly hope that authors didn't do that on purpose.
Second, it happens very often that you just can't do something. You're in a middle of a rooftop when that airplane engine(or whatever that... thing is) falls down. You can either jump over it and fall in the abyss or hit it. The result is the same. Or you have an object on your way and once again, you can jump over it and fall down or hit it and don't have enough speed to clear the next chasm. This, too, happens quite often.
All said and done, it is still a very fun game and I love the details. The tripods in the background, the birds, the crumbling buildings... it makes a great enviroment and atmosphere. And the replayability is just great. So all in all, it's a great game.
Btw, my record is 10571 meters. It was a very lucky run indeed.

I'll tell you right away... this is a GREAT game! I don't think I've laughted as much at any other given on NG in a LOOOOONG time. It has pretty much everything. A lovable and squishable protagonist, lots of cool weapons and upgrades, good(and not annoying) music, very nice art(backgrounds)... it's all there! Together, it gives us a good and solid game and one that just keeps pulling you back in it's embrace. No wonder you get medal for playing for five hours... in the very least! So, as far as play value goes, you get 10 stars.
However, I have some complaints with the system. First of all, nukes are GROSLY underpriced! Ten thousand for such power? By the middle of the game you're positively swimming in cash and can buy all the nukes you desire and they give you a tremendous boost to the distance. Seeing your main income will be the distance you toss the poor turle, that gets a little broken, since you get a lot more cash out of one nuke than you invested. I'd say, crank the price on nukes upwards or tone the power down. One or the other would work well, I think.
Second, the Golden Gun. Boy, is this ever powerful! :D Perhaps too much so... I've gotten all the money I invested in it back, after just one game. I wouldn't say to water the power down. But perhaps giving it just half of the ammunition it gets now? Five bullets? It would still be PLENTY powerful, but not so much as it is now.
And last... targeting seems to be a little off. To elaborate, many times I thought I hit the certain powerup, but game didn't register anything. This is mainly annoying at the starting levels, when you need all the cash you can get your hands on. Later, is just gets a little... weird. But no big problem there. Oh yeah, one more thing! The floating spike mines. I'm not sure if they will stop you if you have the chest bomb equiped, since I never had one when hitting one of those damn things. However, I think you should do something about them. At the very least, when you're under the effect of the nuke, you could ignore them. Due to the speed or something, I'm not sure. Nothing is more annoying then activating the nuke and hitting the spiky bastards a second after that.
All in all, you have a great game here and despite all my complaints, I had great fun with it. As such, it became an instant Favourite! :D Looking forward to the possible sequel!
